So one of my obsessions is going on Pinterest and going under their “Quotes” tab and getting lost in inspirational and funny quotes for hours. I’m not one to post on my Instagram a ton of quotes, I’m more of a selfie/funny picture type of gal, but this one I found this morning, I couldn’t help but share with my followers, and I can’t help but share with you guys as well!
I’m at the age (22) where some of my friends are getting married, some of having children, some are getting engaged and being single in the social media world today can seem pretty lonely. I see all of these couples posting pictures together and I will admit, I do get kind of jealous. Some of my friends are starting new relationships, and some are ending long term ones and I feel like this quote can really speak to anyone.
Girl Gang, don’t settle just for anyone because you are trying to fill this void in your heart. Don’t settle for someone because all your friends are in a relationship and you don’t wanna feel left out. Don’t settle for someone because you think you can’t find anything better. Don’t settle for someone because it’s easy, those relationships are not the ones you don’t want to be in. Be with someone who makes your heart race every time you see them. Be with someone who respects your opinions, and your body, and your family & friends. Be with someone who wants to be with you when you are at your lowest. Someone who will understand what they need to do to make you feel like you again. Someone who not only believes in your dreams and ambitions, but someone who will help make them a reality.
There comes a point where you have to step back and look at the relationship you’re in or the one you are trying to form. Is this person treating me the why I would want someone to treat my daughter, my son, my sister, my brother, my mother, my father ? If this person was treating your best friend this way, what advice would you give them? Give that advice to YOURSELF! If you think the person is not worth your sister’s time and effort, well guess what, he/she isn’t worth your time or effort either ! Be with someone who makes your heart ache in a good way. Someone who’s flaws are perfect to you, and they love yours just as much. Never settle when it comes to love, because once you settle, you close the door to what could have been, and what could have been, could have been the best thing to happen to you.
